Questions
Questions
Are your plates road legal?
That's the only kind we'll sell. Every plate is made to the current British Standard, BS AU 145e, by a DVLA-registered maker. That means the legal character height and spacing, reflective white front and yellow rear, and the supplier and BS AU 145e marks. We aren't taking orders yet. Orders open once our own DVLA supplier registration is in place.
Are 3D gel and 4D plates legal?
Yes, when they meet BS AU 145e. GOV.UK allows raised (3D) characters. They must be a single shade of black, not removable and not reflective, in the legal font, size and spacing. We don't make styles that change the font or spacing, or that add background patterns.
What documents do I need?
Two things. Proof of who you are, for example a driving licence or a recent utility or bank statement. And proof you're entitled to the registration, for example your V5C logbook, a V750 or a V778. The full list is on our Document guide.
Why do you need my documents?
The law requires it: registered number plate suppliers must see your ID and entitlement before making plates, and keep a record. It stops people getting plates made with someone else's registration.
Do I send documents now?
No. We're pre-launch and this site collects no documents. When orders open, we'll ask for them in a separate, secure step and check them before anything is made.
Do you sell show plates?
No. We sell road-legal plates only, made to BS AU 145e. No novelty fonts, no altered spacing.
Will my registration fit a short plate?
It depends on the characters. The builder works out the width your registration needs at the legal 79 mm height and spacing. It tells you if a short size is too small. Many 7-character registrations need the standard 520 mm plate.
Can I add a flag badge?
Yes: the Union flag with UK or GB, England, Scotland or Wales, on the left with the flag above the letters, as GOV.UK allows. With the UK identifier and Union flag you don't need a separate UK sticker abroad; with GB or a national flag you do.
What about motorbikes?
Motorcycles registered from 1 September 2001 show a rear plate only, on two lines. Our motorbike plate is 229 x 178 mm with 64 mm characters.
How do I fit them?
Most plates go on with double-sided foam pads (an optional extra in the builder) or screws through your existing holes. If you use screws, use black caps so they don't change how a character reads.
When will my plates arrive?
We aren't taking orders yet, so we won't promise a time. When orders open, plates are made after your documents are checked, then posted with tracking. Delivery prices and times will be on our Delivery page first.
Can I return plates?
Plates made to your registration can't be returned for a change of mind. Faulty or wrongly made plates are always remade or refunded, and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 aren't affected.
